Below we present short information concerning treatments.
The facelift operation is performed under local anaesthesia and in the presence of an anaesthesiologist, who additionally administers appropriate substances intravenously. It lastes about three hours. Incisions are made in the temple area ( above the hairline) , directly in front of the auricle, around the ear lobe, behind the ear and farther on in the scalp region. Excess skin is removed to achieve proper skin tension and smoothness. A pressure dressing is placed on the affected area following the operation. Face movement (chewing and biting on hard food, talking, vigorous teeth-brushing) should be limited in the first few days after surgery. Hair may be washed for the first time after one week.. Recovery requires approximately two weeks. Scars in front of the ears are usually not very visible. The popular opinion that one facelift has to lead to others is not correct. However, as the years go by and when required, a repeated procedure can be indeed performed.
Breast augmentation. This procedure consists of enhancing the size and shape (protrusion) of the breast with implants. Main indications: congenital breast hypoplasia, asymmetry (breasts of different size), gland atrophy due to breast-feeding.Breast augmentation is performed under general anaesthesia (narcosis). Implants are made of a silicone elastomer shell filled with silicone gel or physiological salt-water solution. They are inserted under breast tissue or beneath the chest wall muscle. The incision is most often made along the crease under the breast.
Consideration must be given to the selection of proper implants - their shape, dimensions and volume. The lay-out and size of the chest, condition of chest muscles, sponginess of the skin - all this must be taken into account. The size of the implants should match the patient's figure. As a rule, one-day hospitalization is sufficient.
Breast lift. This procedure corrects the shape of "sagging" breasts by repositioning the breast gland with the nipple and areola upwards and, concurrently, excising flabby, stretched skin. "Sagging" occurs most often as a result of breast-feeding, drastic weight-loss or, simply, due to ageing. This type of surgery is usually performed under general anaesthesia. In exceptional cases (small breasts), one may consider combining local and venal anaesthesia. Surgical scars are located around and beneath the areola - there are no scars above it, for example in the low-cut neck area. The breast-lift operation may be also used to correct significant asymmetry (for example, one breast "sagging" more than the other).
The breast-lift surgery does not disturb the gland so breast-feeding later on will not be a problem.
